Swedish Meatball Pasta Recipe

This twist on a classic recipe makes a meal out of pasta shells in a creamy sauce and flavorful meatballs. This creamy, dreamy dinner only takes 30 minutes and one pot!  

– ½ cup breadcrumb – 1 medium onion – ¼ cup milk – 1 pound ground beef – 1 egg – ¼ teaspoon nutmeg – ¼ teaspoon allspice – 1 teaspoon salt  – ½ teaspoon pepper – 2 tablespoon olive oil – 4 cups chicken broth – 1 cup heavy cream – 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce – 2 teaspoon dijon mustard – ½ teaspoon salt – ¼ teaspoon pepper – 3 cups pasta – ½ cup parmesan cheese – 2 tablespoon parsley

Add all meatball ingredients to the bowl and mix well. Make small meatballs with 2 tbsp of the meat mixture and your hands.

To ensure that all of the meatballs are of the same size, I find that using a small scoop is the most convenient method.

Place the olive oil in a large Dutch oven or braiser and bring it up to a temperature of medium-high.

Add the meatballs and brown them all over, cooking them in batches if necessary. Place the meatballs on a plate covered with paper towels.

Add the cream, Worcestershire, mustard, chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the same skillet.

Mix everything thoroughly. After bringing the mixture to a boil and adding the pasta, lower the heat so that it simmers.

Stir frequently to tenderise noodles. It should take 10–12 minutes, depending on noodles.

Add the meatballs and Parmesan cheese and stir. Check for seasoning, add some fresh parsley as a garnish, and serve.
